Hello there! I'm Melissa, a passionate explorer hailing from the beautiful country of Canada. For the past seven years, I've called Spain home, embarking on this vibrant journey with my husband and two wonderful kids. Additionally, my frequent visits to Portugal have added another layer to my love for the Iberian Peninsula.

As a editor, writer, and instructor based in southern Spain, nestled within one of those countless hidden gems, I feel compelled to bring these treasures to light.
This isn't a professional travel blog. I lack both the time and deep pockets to explore all the incredible places in Spain and Portugal. Consequently, this list is by no means complete. I'm simply sharing the places I've discovered over the years that have left a lasting impression on me—surprisingly, many tourists aren't even aware of them.
Heck! This is an authentic travel blog - all photos have been shot on my 100 euro Samsung phone and I ENJOYED myself and time with my family. I took in the sights through my eyes not through a screen or lense. I mean absolutely no hate to the talented and amazing travel photographers out there. My gosh, I'd love to be able to spend time capturing the essence of the beauty around me. I spend more time entering my phone password than trying to get the perfect shot. So many destinations are missing photos of some of the best landmarks and sights.
